Enabling two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring a code from your phone in addition to your password.

Setup

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication"
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password)
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your app to confirm
  5. Save your backup codes in a secure location

Logging in with 2FA

After entering your password, you'll be prompted for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Enter the current code to complete login.

Backup codes

When you enable 2FA, ScoutzOS generates 10 backup codes. Each can be used once if you lose access to your authenticator app. Store them securely.

Disabling 2FA

You can disable 2FA from Settings > Security. You'll need to enter a current 2FA code to confirm the change.
