Connecting your bank account

ScoutzOS uses Stripe to handle rent payments, security deposits, and payouts securely. Connecting your bank account allows you to receive funds directly.

Step 1: Navigate to Payment Settings

From the left sidebar, go to Settings and select the "Payments" tab. Click "Connect with Stripe" to begin the setup process.

Step 2: Create or link your Stripe account

If you already have a Stripe account, you can sign in to link it. Otherwise, Stripe will walk you through creating a new account. You will need:

  • Your legal name or business name
  • Tax identification number (EIN or SSN)
  • Bank account and routing number
  • A valid government-issued ID for identity verification

Step 3: Complete identity verification

Stripe requires identity verification to comply with financial regulations. This typically involves uploading a photo of your ID and confirming your personal details. Verification usually completes within minutes.

Step 4: Confirm your bank account

Enter your bank account and routing number. Stripe may send two small deposits to verify the account. Check your bank statement and enter the deposit amounts when prompted.

Step 5: Set your payout schedule

Choose how often you want to receive payouts: daily, weekly, or monthly. You can change this at any time in your Stripe dashboard.

After connecting

Once connected, you can set up rent collection for your properties. Tenants will be able to pay online, and funds will deposit directly to your linked bank account.

Security

Stripe is PCI Level 1 certified, the highest level of security in the payments industry. ScoutzOS never stores your bank credentials directly.
